How to Accessories Your Car

Hello! My name is Andy. When I purchased my first car, I didn't really think about how I could accessorise it. I was so focused on making sure that I the tyres were inflated to the correct pressure, that the engine was in good condition and the exhaust system was working well. However, one day when I was driving around the streets of Sydney, I noticed a guy in the same model car as me. However, his looked much better. It had customised seat covers, a metal gear shift stick and custom decals on the bodywork. I got talking with him, and he recommended a place I could buy my own auto accessories. Now, my car looks great. I decided to start this blog so I could share my passion for auto accessories with others.

A Guide On Dyno Tuning

If you follow car review shows or have friends who are car enthusiasts, you could have come across the term dyno tuning. However, you might not comprehend the dyno-tuning concept. If this is the case, read this extract to learn what dyno tuning is and why you should consider it.

What Is Dyno Tuning?

Dyno tuning is a vehicle upgrade intervention that taps into the vehicle's ECU to adjust the original manufacturer settings. Mass-produced cars are designed to ensure longevity, fuel economy, and control emissions. Therefore, manufacturers avoid optimising the engine power since it compromises variables such as fuel economy and emissions. However, you can adjust the ECU settings to increase the vehicle's torque, horsepower, or fuel consumption. During a dyno tune, a mechanic puts your vehicle on a dynamometer and connects the ECU to a computer program that allows them to adjust the ECU settings. Typically, the dynamometer is a machine that enables the mechanic to replicate road conditions without driving the vehicle on the road. It enables them to rev the car to its limits to know how it responds to ECU alterations.

What Are The Benefits Of Dyno Tuning?

The primary benefit of dyno-tuning is that it allows car owners to customise their vehicles to suit their driving needs. For instance, you could increase the vehicle's horsepower if you enjoy the thrill of speed or plan to take your car to the track. Alternatively, you could tune the engine to increase its fuel efficiency. For example, you could limit the amount of fuel the injectors spray.

Considerations When Dyno Tuning Your Car

The general rule is hiring a professional to dyno-tune your car. As a rule, assess the mechanic's competence before entrusting them with your vehicle. Customer reviews and certifications from motoring blogs and magazines prove that the mechanic comprehends the dyno-tuning process. You could also inquire about the available maps. For instance, you might want the vehicle tuned for fuel efficiency when driving through traffic and maximum horsepower when racing.

Ask your mechanic about the implications of dyno-tuning the vehicle. For example, if you exceed a specified horsepower, you might need to adjust the vehicle hardware to cope with the new ECU changes. For instance, you might need to change the engine block to prevent leakage caused by excessive pressure. Moreover, you could need an aftermarket air intake to burn the increased fuel volume in the cylinders.
